  • 1. What is express entry?
    Express Entry is an online system that we use to manage applications for permanent residence from skilled workers.
  • 2. How does express entry works?
    The express entry works in two stages. On first stage, the candidate checks his eligibility and makes profile and on second stage, the CIC invites the candidates with higher scores to apply for permanent residency.
  • 3. What programs are being offered in express entry?
    • Federal skilled worker program
    • Federal skilled trades program
    • Canadian experience class
  • 4. What are the basic requirements for federal skilled worker program?
    Federal skilled worker program is for foreign experienced skilled workers. Basic requirements of this program are:
    1. Work experience: Minimum one year of full-time, paid work experience in NOC O, A or B in the last 10 years. The work experience should be in the same job as the job you are selecting for your immigration application
    2. Language: For English Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB)  score should be 7
    For French, Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadien (NCLC) score should be 7
    • Education: If you studied in Canada, certificate/diploma/degree from secondary or post-secondary institute is required.
    If you studies outside Canada, you have to get Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from designated institutes in Canada to showing your education is equal to Canadian secondary or post-secondary certificate/degree/diploma.
  • 5. What are the basic requirements for federal skilled trades program?
    Federal skilled trades program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent resident in Canada, working in one of the skilled trades:
    1. Work experience: Minimum 2 years of full-time, paid work experience in the last 5 years.
    2. Language: For English: Speaking and Listening CLB 5; Reading and Writing CLB 4 is required.
    For French: Speaking and Listening NCLC 5; Reading and Writing NCLC 4 is required.
    • Meet the job requirements for that skilled trade as set out in the National Occupational Classification, except for needing a certificate of qualification
    1. Have a valid, full-time job offer for employment for minimum period of 1 year Or
    Certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial or federal authority
  • 6. Which programs are included in skilled trades program?
    Following is the list of groups of NOCs:
    • Major Group 72, industrial, electrical and construction trades
    • Major Group 73, maintenance and equipment operation trades
    • Major Group 82, supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production
    • Major Group 92, processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators
    • Minor Group 632, chefs and cooks
    • Minor Group 633, butchers and bakers
  • 7. What are the basic requirements for Canadian Experience Class?
    Canadian Experience Class is for students, foreign workers having Canadian work experience and want to become Canadian Permanent Resident:
    1. Work experience: Minimum one year of full-time, paid work experience in Canada in last 3 years. The work experience should be in the same job as the job you are selecting for your immigration application
    2. Language: For English: NOC O, A CLB 7; NOC B CLB 5 is required
    For French: NOC O, A NCLC 7; NOC B NCLC 5 is required

    Study permit is a document issued to foreign nationals who want to study In Canada. In order to get the study permit, you have to secure admission in one of the Canada’s designated learning institutes.
  • 11. What are the eligibility requirements for study permit?
    You must be:
    1. Enrolled in one of Canada’s designated learning institutes
    2. Enough funds to pay the tuition fee, living expenses, and travel expenses.
    3. Have no criminal record
    4. Must be in good health
    5. Documentation to prove you will leave Canada when the study permit expires.
